At Warp Technologies, we believe that diversity drives innovation. In honour of International Women’s Day 2025, we’re proud to launch our “Women at Warp” series. This collection of personal stories, career insights, and professional advice showcases the remarkable women on our team.

Why are we doing this? Despite strides in awareness, women still hold fewer than 30% of computing roles. By showcasing the experiences and achievements of our female colleagues, we aim to highlight critical contributions in technology, inspire future generations, and foster a more inclusive industry. These interviews celebrate challenges overcome, offer invaluable mentorship advice, and share what it’s really like to navigate a career in tech.

When it comes to building a resilient career in technology, Dharani has forged a remarkable path from a small village in India to leading roles across the UK, the US, and beyond. In this insightful interview, she shares her journey of overcoming challenges, defining personal success, balancing motherhood and career, and empowering the next generation of women in tech.

From Small Village to Global Tech Career

Dharani didn’t start life with big aspirations. Growing up in a small village with limited resources meant accepting life as it came. But things changed when her academic excellence earned her a place at a reputable university, even though it wasn’t initially in the field she desired. This marked the beginning of her transformative journey.

“University shaped me in ways beyond academics. It boosted my confidence, enhanced my social skills, and gave me invaluable networks worldwide.”

Turning Early Failures into Strengths

Entering the tech world wasn’t straightforward for Dharani. Initially trained in instrumentation, she entered Infosys Technologies as a trainee without even basic computer skills. Her first significant challenge was failing her initial training exam, a setback that devastated her as a top-performing student.

“That failure was a turning point. It taught me resilience. I learned that perseverance is the key to success.”

She embraced the challenge, taking extra time to master new skills. Eventually, Dharani became a key leader on significant projects, including for global clients like AOL, building lasting confidence in her abilities.

Defining Success through Resilience and Growth

For Dharani, success isn’t just about professional achievements; it’s about overcoming challenges with resilience and positivity. Her proudest moments span from completing her rigorous training at Infosys, to excelling in a challenging Microsoft project in the US, to personal milestones with her family.

“Success, for me, is how I face and overcome life’s situations positively, regardless of the outcome.”

The Importance of Mentorship

Mentorship has played a crucial role in Dharani’s growth. Her husband, Bino, has been her biggest mentor, helping her navigate career decisions and pushing her to constantly improve.

“My husband has always encouraged me to think strategically and plan ahead. He’s been instrumental in my personal and professional growth.”

Balancing Career and Motherhood

As a working mother in technology, Dharani emphasizes the necessity of meticulous planning and prioritization. Warp Technologies’ supportive culture has also significantly aided her ability to balance responsibilities effectively.

“Organizing my tasks and managing my time precisely lets me be present both at work and at home. Walking daily helps clear my mind, giving me space to think clearly and remain balanced.”

Pride in Current Work at Warp Technologies

Now at Warp Technologies, Dharani finds pride and fulfillment. The company’s environment emphasizes trust and respect, allowing her to thrive personally and professionally.

“Being part of the team that leads that change—”Warp Technologies gave me the confidence to succeed again after my career break. It’s a place where my work is respected, and I feel truly valued.”a fantastic legacy and positioning it as world-class—is very exciting.”

The Future of Women in Tech

Looking ahead, Dharani is optimistic about the growing opportunities for women in tech, highlighting the importance of confidence and self-belief. Her advice for future generations is simple and empowering:

“Women have everything they need to succeed. What we need now is strength and confidence to step forward boldly.”

Dharani’s inspiring journey—from a small village in India to tech leadership roles worldwide—shows the power of resilience, determination, and genuine self-belief. Her experiences illustrate that true success lies not only in professional achievements but also in how we face life’s challenges and continue growing every day.
