Women in Tech Week UK 2025 runs from 13 to 17 October. It celebrates the achievements of women in the technology industry and highlights how much more there is to do.
The week is led by WeAreTechWomen and backed by partners across the sector. The data is clear. Only around 21 percent of the UK tech workforce are women. In some areas, the number is lower still. The Lovelace Report estimates that the lack of retention and progression for women in technology costs the UK up to £3.5 billion every year.
Why representation matters
This isn’t just a fairness issue. Diverse teams perform better. They generate more ideas, design better products, and understand a wider range of customer needs. When women are missing from those teams, innovation suffers.
Technology needs every voice. From cybersecurity and software to data and AI, the industry thrives when more people are included.
At Warp Technologies, we’re proud that about 30% of our members are women. They lead projects, manage delivery, and drive innovation across the business. Their work shapes everything from client strategy to technical implementation.

These sessions are about connection and visibility. They’re also a reminder of the progress being made — and the distance still to go.
How organisations can help
If you want to build better products and stronger teams, inclusion has to be deliberate. That means:
- Reviewing hiring and promotion practices.
- Offering mentorship and career support.
- Creating flexible, supportive workplaces.
- Recognising and celebrating the women already making an impact.
For Warp, Women in Tech Week is about both visibility and action. It’s a chance to spotlight our own talented women and to champion the change still needed across the industry.
Looking forward
The future of technology should be built by everyone. Women in Tech Week is a reminder that the sector is stronger when it’s diverse, inclusive, and equal.
If you’re in tech, get involved. Share your story, mentor someone new, or attend one of this week’s events.
Together we can build a future where women in technology aren’t the minority – they’re the norm.
